Chadds Ford, PA - Adding to an impressive record of conservation over 39 years, the Brandywine Conservancy's Environmental Management Center permanently protected 338 acres in 2005. Projects completed during the year raised the total number of acres protected by the Conservancy to 39,614.

According to a recent study by the Pennsylvania Land Trust Association, the Conservancy has protected more land through conservation easements than any other of the 43 land trusts in the state.

The Conservancy is currently responsible for monitoring 423 easements on 31,544 acres. Conservancy staff members visit each property at least once a year to ensure that it remains in compliance with the easement.
