Staff Update
In the past few months, three important staff positions were filled at the Environmental Management Center. The new additions bring much experience and many skills that will contribute significantly to the Conservancy's future.


Jaffray L. Edens is the new Senior Planner for the Land Stewardship Program. Her primary responsibilities will be to plan and write conservation easements and manage any other Conservancy land acquisitions. Jaffray grew up on a farm in Virginia. She has a bachelor's degree in Theatre from Wesleyan University and a law degree from Howard University. She practiced real estate law in Washington, D.C. for the past six years. Her other experience includes managing a non-profit art and science education program for schools in northern Virginia, food catering in Washington and New York, and theatre (off-Broadway).

Robert Lonsdorf is the new Senior Planner for Watersheds and Biodiversity in the Municipal Assistance Program. Born and raised in southeastern Pennsylvania, he holds a bachelor's degree in Modern American Studies from Kenyon College and a master's degree in Environmental Studies from Northeastern Illinois University. Robert has 12 years of professional experience working with a wide range of conservation education and advocacy issues.

Wade Shelton recently joined the Conservancy as an Assistant Planner in the Land Stewardship Program. He will plan and write conservation easements. Wade earned a bachelor's degree in Environmental Biology from Colgate University and a master's degree in Environmental Management from Duke University.
